Her hair was greying from the roots, respecting the laws of nature transforming a once-beautiful woman into an old lady, whose skin was starting to loosen around the bone angles. Her voice was not firm like before.
Her hands had tremor, her gait, a sway.
The shining stars of extra ordinary intelligence did not shine in those eyes anymore.

Sitting there in a parallel universe, he could study her every expression, interpret her every move to perfect accuracy, sometimes even predicting what was to be.
But he never helped her.
