Sometimes people tell you that you are amazing but they are telling you to get their way with you. It is not necessarily true for them and may not be based on your real good values. ( False positive)
Sometimes people tell you that you are amazing and they mean it. And it is true, because they see the beauty in you that is there. ( True positive)
Sometimes people tell you that you are terrible, but in reality they are just being mean to you because of their own psychological issues. (False negative)
And sometimes people tell you that you are not that good a person. And it is not narcissistic abuse or a deliberate effort to undermine you. It is correct. ( True negative)
It is so hard to figure out which is which, and where do you have to open your heart and have capacity for self-reflection, and where should you draw a line and stand up for yourself. I may have missed opportunities for correct identification of each situation but I stare at the following message and feel that it is a correct analysis about me. It's a true negative.
An identity rooted in appearing 'good' to others doesn't work for its lack of authenticity.
I need to grow.
( P.S : I am using the statistical terms False positive, true positive, false negative, true negative with only some association to their original context, mostly I am taking the literary license of word play)
