One of the reasons I didn't become a psychiatrist is that, I didn't want my profession to be a confounder for the fact that I care about you. I didn't want you to feel that i care about you and will listen to you, because you pay me. I know these two things are not mutually exclusive at all, and it might be a flawed reasoning, to which many counter-arguments are possible, but this was a bit of my reasoning.
