The first rip in the plumbing is the easiest to take care of  . After that it is chaos. It is hard to determine the cause of the problem if you arrive at the scene late. It is all water and madness. It looks hopeless.
  Similarly with people, the first strike is easy to make up for. Repeated blows finalize the feelings. Problematic people have very benign sounding hurt in the underbelly of their chaos. It is the lack of love in childhood, the early loss of a parent, the broken friendship, the love that gilted them forever. It coils around their heart like an unrelenting cobra. We call these people impossible. We are so busy fixing our own leaks that we simply do not have time for them.
