If a woman even wins nobel prize in science and has one aspect of her life that is not according to society's standards , maybe she isn't happily married , or have children.  They will say ' that's because she didn't  care about her family. Or, this was bound to happen because she didn't care about her personal life.
It is very hard to stand against this kind of judgement because there are three possibilities of dealing with it, you ignore it and move on , you appear to reject it on surface but harbor the resentment , or you become what they want you to be.The latter two choices involve self doubt. And this is detrimental for any ambition that demands singular focus. 
  Many times it is the women who pass this verdict. It is understandable on their part. We all want our sacrifices to mean something. So their countless small sacrifices mean this to them , they managed to have a family at the end of the day and they feel proud , the desire for their own validation leads them to question the choices of those women who did it differently. Then any failure they perceive on the other woman's part , they target it. They fling back the vitriol that became a sour taste in their mouth on so many occasions when they couldn't speak.   It is understandable , coming from them. But it doesn't cease to be hurtful.
It never does.
