Nationalism is just an in group bias that is somehow acceptable , even honorable , and is perpetrated on a bigger scale. Its existence is understandable as it offers the benefit of communal solidarity but it also warps the judgement of an individual to a degree that violence perpetrated in the name of their group becomes justified to them , and even a point of glory. It slowly and always starts to trump humanity and humanitarian values.
