On self-sacrifice

Interesting. There is no concept of 'Zarf' in English language. None that I have come across , courtesy yes, but definitely without the emphasis that I find in Urdu language and it's culture. The concept of self sacrifice in West has already died or is fast dying. While in our part of the world , A lot of our interactions and even life long relationships are based on tolerance, compromise and self sacrifice. Here we live life in a duty to social order. The intended milestones for any given person are clear and there is little room for personal exploration, creativity and freedom.
I can make a case for living life with the people you love which involves a lot of compromise. I can make a case for the opposite side. Both are compelling to me at different times and on different days. But the life in which I have to explain little things to people is not for me.
