Valentine's day has no place in religion. Birthday celebrations have no place in religion. Mothers day, Fathers day have no place in religion.
What however has a place in religion is the practice of telling people what does not have a place in religion. Apparently always criticising what holds value for people : A harmless celebration , a harmless event or harmless happiness of people. It has a place in society. In the world where there is already not enough love to go around, in a country where bombs and terrorist attacks are not an uncommon occurrence , in a society where women are still KILLED for exercising their right to marry with their own choice, where children are condemned and blackmalied if they declare their choice. Where people spend miserable lives in joint family systems for it to painted as ' the great eastern values'. They have an audacity to suck every last drop of freedom of personal celebration.
Valentine's day is haraam. Unfortunately what's not haraam is your nose in everyone's matters. And your heart so black that it sees negativity in everything. Your belief so vulnerable that it is threatened by these 'western customs'. Live and let live. Stop this harrassment of people who dont believe in your 'values'.
