I have no problem with making my brother a sandwich, or taking care of my father to the extent that i would wash his feet, or cooking for a husband I do not have in my life thus far. But I have every problem with my efforts being taken for granted. I have every problem with being 'ordered'. I have every problem with being thought of as someone who is 'submissive' by default and not good by herself that she would do these things for you. This has nothing to do with feminism. It has everything to do with my right of being celebrated like an independent individual who has the choice to be towards her male counterparts, however she wants to be. In my dictionary respect comes before love. Otherwise, I demand the society to realize that I have options too.
