 Hey Blog.

I started the Keto diet 3 days back. But yesterday night I was on call. And night calls now feel trying to me at the level of the soul.

Anyway. In the night, I felt so hungry that I went to the nearest store, risking safety in this region of Bronx, and got a pack of chicken tenders. The chicken tenders were coated with bread and that's carbs, but I calculated it will be about 10 g of carbs and that it should be ok. I had them. It was also a very busy night and we were getting one admission after another. At around 5 am, I started feeling properly physically ill, as one does when they have the flu. My energy levels dipped down, it was taking me a considerable amount of energy to just move. At that point, I was not making any connections with anything, but I told the intern that it feels like I'm having the flu. I could hardy make it to the sign out time. I felt like I would pass out from the weakness. And there in my heart, there was an intense craving to go to iHOP and get some pan cakes.

Later at home, I realized it was the keto flu! I knew if a diet could make me feel like this for some days, let alone weeks (the duration it may go on for), I am not doing it. So I had a piece of naan , I ordered some real food ( Indian/Pakistani food) and broke my Keto diet.

I still feel drained of energy but I am still feeling better than before. In the past too, I have felt like this during the 'crash' period after a very stimulating experience. And I remember thinking in all those times that nothing is worth sacrificing my mental capabilities for, even temporarily!
